I rant about Lotusphere scheduling on Ben's blog.

Ben Langhinrichs does the Lotus community a great service with his annual sessions database. It's at version 1.o and it's an awesome resource to do your session scheduling. I'm just frustrated with the BP sessions I'll miss due to conflicts.

'I mostly look for BP sessions. After Sunday, Wednesday is the next nightmare to schedule.

10 am - Choose between the entertainment/knowledge of BP 213 Worst Practices or the great info of BP209 Moving IBM Lotus Notes Applications to the Web.

11:15 am - No BP sessions that interest me. Product showcase time?

1:30 pm Three choices for me
AD307 Advanced LotusScript: Design Programming using XML and DXL - Rocky and Andre
Try and make last showing of BP213 Worst Practices - the Best of the Worst?
..or BP216 Interface Matters - Basics of UI Design (admit it, this should be required for many of us)

3 pm I'm dying to see both of these
BP210 Reports, Charts, and Graphs in IBM Lotus Notes - Julian and Rob
BP217 Interface Matters - Advanced UI Design Concepts - Chris and Nathan

Reports are a real challenge in Notes for years and I need all the UI help I can get.

Hopefully at 4:15 there will still be a seat for BP212 The Great Code Giveaway: "Beyond Cool".

Pray for repeats I guess.'

Hey Curt,

I can help with your dilemma at 3 - go to the UI session. Not tongue-in-cheek, because I can make sure you get all the details offline. I'm going to record all the demos with a tool like jonvon used last year, and I think Julian will as well, so you won't miss the demos either. Slides plus recorded demos plus code (which we'll post *before* the session) should have you covered and you know Julian and I will hook you up if you have questions.

I agree with your rant, though - I have some of the same problems (and I'm ticked that I'm going to miss the UI session myself). It happens every year, to an extent, but it seems very bad this year. Maybe it's perception, I don't have any hard data about it. I'm double and triple booked in some slots and have nothing to do in others.

That idea about scheduling based on the personas is VERY interesting. You should mention it to Ed and/or Rocky.

Well, the good news is that I finally found your RSS feed, so I'm keeping up on the site instead of stopping by every month or so.

The bad news is that I, unfortunately, feel EXACTLY your pain. I also know that by Wed afternoon, the fatigue will be building, and competing with the various sessions for my attention will be the body saying, "You know, I could REALLY do with a nap, and if I don't get one, I'll just start bobbing my head down as you then jerk it back up in the session that you inevitably will decide to attend."

@Hey Rob,
I really appreciate your post. You have no idea. Your content could possibly save one of my applications from extinction. (That's a stretch but it could use some creative reporting features) I was going through my head of ways I could maybe get you guys drunk and drag session content out of you. I didn't think you'd crack but I thought if I promised Julian a 'Tappas' dinner, he'd crack. :)
I noticed another thing about this that made it even worse. The UI guys have two sessions in a row with a beginner and advanced at the Y&B. You guys are in the second slot a mile away.(Swan)
Seeing and supporting you guys live is the best thing but it's good to know I can take advantage of the content even if I can't be there live.
Your the best! Thanks man.

@Joe,
Agreed on the burn out status.
Some free time to hit the product showcase or labs is fine too.
Speaking of parties, has there been blogging/discussion on BALD or Joe's room cocktail party? These are two of my favorite events.
