Fun with Error Trapping
I was debugging some WebQuerySave agents today and came across an interesting error. I used OpenLog to send messages to my log file but I was getting this error:" Error 0 on line 0 in function INITIALIZE: " I seemed to figure out it was from my error trapping. The cloud cleared when I found a note in the forum for ver 4/5. This was the only hit I got in my search and I got no hits in the ver 6/7 forum. When I added the Exit sub before my error trapping, all set. OpenLog really worked great for debugging web agents as it's a pain to just do print statements to the browser.

Yankees 4 Mets 2 in good game Tuesday night
My Yankees Little Leauge team rebounded from their loss Saturday night to play a good game and win Tuesday night. We are now 8 wins 2 losses.
Here's my write up to the local newspaper:
Yankees 4 Mets 2 on Tuesday, May 22nd at Oak Avenue
Kyle Sanford had a triple, single, 2 RBI's and pitched 2 solid closing innings to help the Yankees to a 4-2 win over the Mets. Patrick Baker (single and run scored) pitched 4 2/3 solid innings giving up no runs and striking out 9. Andrew Servin had a single and 2 nice catches in the outfield including a diving catch in the last inning. Brian Hafrey walked in the 5th and stole home on a close play to give the Yankees a much needed insurance run. The Mets got good pitching from Kegan Boe, Ben Canny and Kurt Houppert combining for 7 strike outs. Kegan Boe led the Mets with two singles and one run scored. Mitchel Zagrodnick walked and scored the Mets 2nd run in the last inning.
My Ben had a single and scored too!
Congrats on my 100th Blog post!

Yea!!! Sirius Radio Announces New Gratefhttp://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.giful Dead station
Today's a good day! Beautiful sunshine day and a fantastic announcement to open a Grateful Dead station on Sirius. Check out the announcement.
The Jam On station is awesome but now I'll get deep concert cuts 24 hours a day. I love my Sirius! I just upgraded to the Sportster 4. Now, I need the boombox for those summer days.
Enjoy and Rock on!

Torrington Yankees move to 7-1
Yankees 11 Pirates 2
We came back from a poorly played week last week to play our best game last night. I proud of the way the boys stayed focused and took care of business. Here's the write up I sent to the newspaper. Go Yanks!
The Yankees broke open a close 2-1 game in the 5th inning off Patrick Baker's 3 run home run. Baker was 4-4 with a double, 2 singles and a home run with 6 RBI's. Ben Stone went 2-3 with a single, double, walk and scored 3 runs. Yankees played good team defense behind good pitching from Kyle Sanford (5 strike outs in 2 innings work), Andrew Servin (1 strike out and no runs in two innings) and Patrick Baker (3 strike outs in 2 innings). For the Pirates, Jason Abbott had a double and scored two runs. Jessie Rosengrant went 2-3 with two singles. Matt Barile had a single and a walk.

The things we forget!?
Wow, did I ever get stumped on one today. I was reviewing a new database someone asked me to support. They have a few enhancements they'd like done. The database has document security and they were looking at hiding some data from certain groups of people. I started looking at the roles in the database and the Reader and Authors fields. I couldn't understand why I was able to read the documents because I didn't have the role the Readers field was calling out. I searched for other Readers fields and could not find one. The particular role was not even in the ACL. Off to Notes.net for clues. I found a mention that Authors fields grant Reader access too and I had both roles in the Authors field. Totally forgot about that from my certification studies. I looked it up in my old R5 cert book and it's clear there.
Quote: "If a Readers field and Authors field are both included in the document, and a name appears in the Authors list but not in the Readers list, the user has reader access to the document." Confusing and I couldn't find this written clearly in the Notes Help documentation. Fun stuff for a Friday.

How Lotus changed the business world
Interesting article in Boston Globe inspired by ex-Loti getting together this weekend for a reunion. The article has some interesting points on how Lotus was innovative in management and software. Thanks goes to my admin for forwarding to me.

Sometimes Notes Tables just suck
I was struggling with a fixed width table today. I could not resize the column width. Not even clicking the mouse real hard. :) I found a post in Notes.net that made me feel better that I wasn't an idiot.(at least this time). I cut the fields out of the column, deleted the column, inserted a new column and pasted my fields back in the column. Magic! I could now resize the column.
